Moving Mountains
We all have difficult times in our lives.
Last week was a rough one. The week started off with news the world had lost a young, beautiful soul. A young woman from a coffee shop I used to frequent passed away after a battle with cancer. I didn’t know her well but was always taken aback by her kindness and personality as both a patron and the few months I worked there. While I was not close to her, the impact she had in our brief interactions was very much felt and the outpouring of love which followed her passing told me her loss was felt by so many.
There was also some work-related news which rocked the back half of the week. By Thursday, I knew I needed a reset so I escaped to the mountains of North Carolina. I took the opportunity to camp out over night, take in a train ride on the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad and take the Jeep on an adventure through the beautiful mountain landscape. I don’t know if I got a reset but it allowed me a moment for my mind to settle and be present.
Life will always present difficult challenges. Could be a difficult day, week, month or season. We will all have our trying moments.
But they are JUST moments. They WILL NOT last.
Remember to take time, reset and continue on your path.
